Tilden Park Family Photos: Becca & Josh

I don’t do a lot of families, but every once in awhile, I get the chance to capture something special. In this case, these three are becoming a family next June when Becca and Josh get married, so this was a kind of combo engagement / family session. Tilden Park is an East Bay classic, so I was also pretty happy to venture off the beaten path and hide from the typical Merry Go Round photos. Just wandering around one of the park’s many trails and bask in the classic Bay Area scenery of green redwoods and yellow fields was a great change of pace.

Becca and Josh themselves are both so sweet, and boy, they have their hands full with their daughter! I gave her one small taste of power by letting her direct them in a few photos and she took off running with it! I also quickly discovered that she took pride in never EVER looking at the camera, and it was both hilarious and adorable. The nerd highlight was Josh convincing her to bang a stick on a bridge yelling, “You Shall Not Paaaaasssssssss! … wait, but why?” “You’ll get it when you’re older.” Ha!
