Pietra Santa Winery Wedding: Nora & Robert

Posted September 17, 2013 at 10:00 am in ,

For your consideration today, a Pietra Santa Winery wedding! Nora and Robert are an amazing L.A. couple who came up to Hollister to get married at the Pietra Santa Winery on a Wednesday! As one of the speech givers noted, it’s a testament to the love that Robert and Nora inspire in others that the winery was packed, for a wedding full out of out of towners, in the middle of the week!

I’m always a little worried when I know a couple is planning their wedding from out of town – being at a distance makes everything difficult, including meeting up to even get to know each other before the wedding day! Still, Robert and Nora managed to plan one whirlwind weekend in the area, where they met with every vendor, from make up to, well, me! and all my worries vanished. They both knew what they wanted and made it so easy to understand the photos they absolutely wanted from me.

With wonderful family and friends, geeky details, and a fantastic, hilarious slew of speech givers, their wedding is definitely one of my favorites of the year!

Funny story: the night before, Nora apparently had a nightmare where I arrived hours late during the reception with a Great Gatsby-esque entourage. All day long, people asked me, “So, Natalie, where’s your entourage???” I assure you, I rarely show up with an entourage, and if I do, I’ll ask you first AND be on time! 🙂

I was so in love with Nora’s wedding dress by La Sposa.

Isn’t Nora just gorgeous? We were running late all day, so time for portraits was always, literally, 2 minutes long, but I managed to capture these shots regardless!

Flowers by Barone’s Westlakes Balloons & Gifts in Hollister! Also, Robert, was more than a little obsessive about the wedding! Between setting up all the chairs and checking every detail, I was seriously impressed he managed to check on everything!

First look!

The whole ceremony was super sweet – full of laughter *and* tears. It was hard to not choke up with the officiant being Robert’s brother!

A special sunglasses photo there in the middle, requested by the couple.

All of their portraits were so beautiful, too! I was worried about the sun, but I even managed to sneak them outside for a sunset session, and it was gorgeous!!!

Just like a classic Italian-inspired winery!

I love all the wood and barrels!

The cake and pastries are by the talented Luz, the Cake Lady, and the catering was done by Contemporary Catering. Look at those adorable cookies!!!! AHHH! I love them so much!!! As a geek wedding photographer, I really can’t get enough of them! Sometimes, I just open these photos on my computer to stare at their awesomeness.

Every speech giver have a fantastic speech – here, Robert’s father talks about his complete lack of success at brainwashing Robert to NOT love chocolate.

Then, Nora’s brother talked about this AMAZING story of Robert & Nora in India involving a bouquet of flowers and the words “beep bop boop bop.” Did I mention how much I love this couple?

Congratulations, Nora and Robert! I really, REALLY wish you all the best – you guys were so patient with me and so much fun to work with! Thank you for allowing me to document such a fun wedding!
