Doubletree by Hilton Sacramento Wedding: Devin & Megan (Part 2!)

Up today we have the second part of Devin and Megan’s wedding, a Doubletree by Hilton Sacramento Wedding. For those that have never been, it’s a sprawling hotel complex with a beautiful central courtyard – as you’ll see! You know, I posted last week, but to add insult to injury about my not blogging for so long, I went to go find the photos for this wedding and found that I had actually chosen the photos and put them into layouts for a blog post! I just actually didn’t write it and post it. Sigh. I’m sorry, everyone!

As you’ll recall, this was a long, 18 hour day. They had their Sikh ceremony in the morning, but their vision was one of blending cultures, and they couldn’t pass up a white dress ceremony as well. After the remaining customary traditions at Devin’s house, Megan headed back to the hotel to get her hair done, while Devin did what he’d been waiting a very long time to do: SHAVE HIS BEARD. You have to grow it out for your wedding, no more shaving, and he couldn’t wait to have a shaving party with him and his friends.

Personally, I feel like the little dance of joy Susan caught them doing after they exited the ceremony really just encapsulates everything. It was good to kick back at the reception and just party!!! I can’t wait to share all the details with you! Starting with:

Why are these people coming down the aisle….and then turning around? They just got word that the bride is running late! Beep beep beep, FULL REVERSE. Don’t start the ceremony!

There weren’t a lot of details, but check out the details here. OF COURSE THEY HAD PIE! Not only is Megan gluten free (like me! <3 ), but it was PI DAY! REMEMBER??? Also, what is this Mario Coin Box doing here.......? Hmmmmm, I don't know............

Instead of doing the lame “kiss every time the glasses clink” which never fails to make me roll my eyes (sorry!), they did this AWESOME thing! The guests had to roll a giant inflatable die, and if they rolled high, the couple kissed. If not, they had to either make a small donation to a charity or, if they had a significant other, kiss that person. So cute! So geeky! LOVE!

Congrats, Megan and Devin! 🙂 I hope you guys are doing well, and that we get your album cover chosen before your first anniversary. 😉 It’s impossible to watch Futurama without thinking of you both now!!!
